Softball

Welcome to LCBSA Softball

La Canada softball provides a space where girls of all ages and abilities can play, develop softball skills and a love for the game, learn important lessons about teamwork and themselves and, most importantly, have tons of fun!

We welcome you to join us in one of our programs

  • 4U Clinics: The 4U clinics are a perfect introduction to softball for our youngest players aged 4 years old and under. We focus on fundamentals, fun, and fostering a love for the game.
  • 6U: Designed for players aged 6 years old and under, this division introduces more of the game to the girls.  They have the opportunity to practice and then play in games (all of which end in a tie) where they hit coach pitch or off a tee and play the field.  At this age group, players can request to play with each other to add to the fun.
  • 8U: This division is for girls 8 years old and under where we introduce more of the game.  At this age group, we begin drafting teams to maintain competitive balance.  Girls begin to pitch to each other, although we continue some coach pitch to keep things moving.  Games are scored, and we maintain playing rules to insure girls are getting opportunities around the diamond throughout the games.
  • 10U:  This division is for girls 10 years old and under and introduces most of the game to the girls.  Games are exclusively "girl-pitched" and become a little more competitive, although we continue to maintain playing rules to insure girls are playing around the diamond through each game.  Base stealing is entirely open (i.e. "home plate is open") and the "dropped third strike" rule is introduced.
  • 12U: This division is for girls 12 years old and under and begins to resemble the full game of softball (although pitching occurs closer to the plate than in 14U).
  • 14U:  This division is for girls 14 years old and under.  Girls in this division are essentially playing the same game of softball they will encounter in high school (and beyond).

Coaches and Volunteers

Our dedicated coaches and volunteers are the backbone of LCBSA. They are committed to providing quality instruction, promoting good sportsmanship, and creating a positive experience for all our young athletes.  We welcome you to let us know if you are interested in coaching or volunteering in some capacity.
